The 29-year-old, who did not play for the Gunners due to back injury, disclosed that he will recover from the injury before the Russia 2018 World Cup kicks off in June.

Arsenal playmaker, Mesut Ozil has stated that it was a pity he missed his club’s 5-0 thrashing of Burnley at the Emirate stadium in Sunday’s Premier League fixture.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the floodgates in the 14th minute, sliding in Alexandre Lacazette’s cross-shot. Lacazette himself doubled the lead shortly before half time, finishing off Hector Bellerin’s cross.
Aubameyang then tucked away Bellerin’s cross, to seal an emphatic win.
Ozil, however, took to his Twitter handle on Monday to express his feelings.
He wrote, “It’s a pity I missed yesterday’s match with my back injury. It’ll need some time but I’m sure I’ll fully recover in time for the World Cup.”
