Nigerian women arrested in Ghana for running prostitution ring
Two women, Ify Mba, 33, and Amanda Eze Chioma, also known as Faith, 23, have been arrested for allegedly making Nigerian ladies swear to juju oaths and forcing them into prostitution.
According to Buzz Ghana, Mba and Chioma were arrested at Baatsona in Accra, Ghana, on charges human trafficking and running a prostitution cartel in that country.
They
were said to have recruited girls from different parts of Nigeria with
the promise of getting them well-paying jobs in Ghana only to make them
swear to oaths and force them into prostitution against their wishes.
Six
of their victims between the ages of 21 and 26, who were said to have
been locked up in a hotel at Baatsona, were rescued by the police during
a raid while the mastermind of the ring, another Nigerian lady
identified only as Slim Angel, is currently on the run.
Some
of the rescued victims told the police that they were brought from
Nigeria to Ghana on March 14, 2017, by the two suspects, on transit to
Germany and Dubai, where they were told they would be employed as
housekeepers.
However, the victims
claimed that as soon as they arrived in Ghana, they were compelled to
engage in prostitution in nightclubs and hotels, after being locked up
in a hotel room and made to swear an oath.
